Equilibrium - The Perfect Balance.
Genesis road bikes spend an important part of their development and testing phase dealing with the fast descents and hair-pin climbs of the Alps. The ability to excel in those conditions makes them more than ready for the UK's narrow, poorly surfaced roads with short and steep gradients, so secure handling in wet or dry conditions is assured.
The Equilibrium is built with both race speed and endurance event comfort in mind. The frame tubing has many similarities to that of the bikes ridden to Grand Tour victories during the days of Merckx, Hinault, Lemond and Indurain. Although steel can't match the weight of a carbon frame, the past performances of these riders demonstrates the capability of a great steel frame.
The Equilibrium's Reynolds 853 Pro-Team tubing is a more advanced grade of steel than available then. A thinner-walled and air-hardening tube that creates a performance-to-weight balanced frame with an involving ride quality that has to be experienced to be fully appreciated. Combining this unique frame material with a semi-compact geometry and a stiffened rear end due to Cromo seat stays simply adds to the handling response and comfort.
The package is finished off with Shimano Ultegra and 105 10speed including a compact chain set.
Easy-rolling, speedy steel ride.
