Mongoose Blaze junior sized BMX style bike.
The Blaze is a BMX bike built for small people who haven't grown enough to handle a full sized BMX. It could be described as the sister bike to the Motivator Mini, as it is in effect the same bike, but painted pink instead of orange to appeal more to girls.
BMX Durability
Mongoose have applied the same standards to these 'mini' BMX bikes as they do to their full size versions, such as strong and durable hi-tensile steel frame tubing, 20 inch alloy wheels, large diameter BMX bottom bracket and sturdy 1 piece steel cranks, all of which are used in the full sized bikes to make them hardy enough to withstand the stresses of high speed racing on dirt tracks and high impact jumping at the skatepark.
Junior BMX
Rather than being a kids bike with BMX looks, the Mongoose Blaze is a BMX with it's geometry adapted to enable younger children to ride a proper bike.
What they've done is taken the normal frame shape and increased the slope on the toptube to make the seat tube much shorter, and therefore the saddle and standover height are also lower, making the bike safer for younger children, as well as being easier to handle.
This lowered geometry has also enabled Mongoose to use shorter seatstays and chainstays. This smaller rear triangle, combined with the compact, sloping front end, results in a much shorter wheelbase, and in turn a lighter, easier to handle bike, ideal for the younger rider, which is the whole point.
Race Ready
The Blaze is aimed at riders of around 5 to 9 years of age, and will stand up to more or less anything a junior cyclist can throw at it, including cruising around the local parks and streets, or entering the under 9's category of the next official race meet in your area.
