Ahead Headsets
An ’ahead’ headset is designed to work with ahead forks. The fork must have a steerer tube that inserts through the headset and your stem attaches to this. Most forks produced these days are ahead forks and so most headsets produced are designed to work with these.
External Ahead Sets
At AW Cycles you will find external ahead sets to fit frames designed to accept them in the two main sizes: 1" which is a measurement of the headtube which only a few manufacturers still produce, or 1 1/8" headsets. The latter is the most common measurement found on the frames.
