700c Road Racing Forks
At AW Cycles we stock road forks in steel, aluminium and carbon. Most manufacturers are producing forks in carbon only at all price points for all areas of the sport. The most common upgrade made to an older road bike is to put a pair of stiff and light carbon forks onto the existing frame, thus transforming the ride.
Strength & Usability
The forks can come with carbon blades and alloy steerer tube to give added strength and usability. However, this can mean added weight, unlike light carbon blades and carbon steerer. As well as the materials the shape of the fork can be important with angles (rake) creating different riding characteristics on the bike. Make sure if you are not replacing like with like that you contact us to find out how compatible the forks will be with your existing frame.
Lightweight Properties
Most manufacturers will make an aerofoil shaped fork designed for time trials where weight is far less of an issue than speed through the air. Mud guard eyes are also included on certain forks, allowing you to fit mudguards to the forks and make riding in wet weather a whole lot more enjoyable.
