Threaded Headsets
Threaded headsets are designed to work with quill stems. This is where the headset fits into the frame and the forks lock into the headset inside the headtube. The stem can then be attached to the forks inside the frame. Although these headsets were standard issues 20 years ago, the popularity of the ahead system means they are now rarely seen on bicycles. This type of headset fits headtube sizes of 1" and 1 1/8".
Commonly Sized Threaded Models
Unlike ahead headsets, the most common size for threaded models is 1". This was the most common measurement used in frame production in the past. We stock a range of headsets to fit both sizes, catering for older bikes that still use quill stems and threaded forks from leading manufacturers such as Campagnolo and FSA.
