This adaptor is really useful with older bikes that have 1 steerer. The bike can be renovated to use today's standard bars and stem. This can result in better ergonomics as well as a more modern look.

Note that this adaptor will not enable the bars to be raised up and down - a correctly sized Ahead stem is needed for that, or an old, non-Ahead stem.
