Thomson's Elite X2 handlebar stem is their upgraded and improved stem, designed to supersede and out-perform their previous Elite model.
As you'd expect from the masters of materials engineering the aluminium used for the X2 is of a vastly superior grade than most competitor stems, and this is reflected in the impressive stiffness and light weight, which transfers the full benefit of quality forks and stiff, oversized handlebars to provide precise and responsive handling and control.
The weight saving, 2-bolt, handlebar clamp features Thomson's interlocking clamp design to increase torsional strength compared to standard 2 bolt stems. This stem is designed solely to fit handlebars with an oversized clamping area, i.e. 31.8mm, as the larger diameter increases overall rigidity to fully benefit from the quality of the stem.
Available in 10 or 17 degree rise versions, which can be fitted either way up to give a positive or negative rise. 10 degree stems work well for average riders/amateur racers, while those who want a very aggressive aero position or who want a very upright position can use the 17 degree stem to meet their fit needs.
