A Tradition of Excellence.
The 1885 range of bikes brings Bianchi's incredible expertise in Aluminium frame design and manufacture to a price point that is attractive to all those who want a top class race bike suitable to all types of racing and road cycling, but don’t want to have to re-mortgage their house to get it.
Bianchi is now a large manufacturing power and while they have still not lost that Italian class they have the purchasing power that only large companies have. This means that they can buy components and materials cheaper, meaning that they can offer superb, well equipped bicycles at an unbelievable price.
Aluminium Technology.
1885 is the year that Edoardo Bianchi founded his original workshop, so the 1885 models reflect the spirit and tradition of his legacy, doing so through the experienced application of the most up to date materials and technologies.
Each frame is hand built using a light weight triple butted aluminium which gives a really stiff ride for those wanting to shave the seconds from their sprints.
The attention to detail on the TIG welds is second to none and at first glance the smooth finish might make you think that the frame is a carbon monocoque. In fact it is simply the result of Bianchi's care, attention and pride in their craftmanship.
Bianchi and Campy, Italian Class.
This bike comes with the superb Campag Veloce gear system with a racing ratio double chainset, giving the bike a clean and workmanlike appearance. The gears are the 2009 versions of Campagnolo's Veloce groupset with the integrated chainset and bottom bracket increasing the pedalling feedback and decreasing the weight.
The gears themselves, as always with Campagnolo, work flawlessly and give the bike a really race ready feel making it a great all round high speed performer.
