FCR is designed for the well-rounded athlete looking to break free of the gym.
It is built around Giant's compact road geometry, giving smooth, responsive handling and acceleration, but set up to use straight handlebars rather than racing style drop-bars, so the rider is naturally positioned more upright with open shoulders to enable easier breathing during a fitness workout, and allows you to cover long distances in comfort.
For the FCR Alliance Giant have applied their dual materials technology to give the benefits of both carbon and aluminium in the frame.
Put simply, the carbon top-tube, seat-tube and seat stays provide torsional stiffness and vibration damping while the alloy down-tube and chain stays allow a degree of compliance in the power transfer and handling.
The Alliance technology is seen as something of a comprimise over full carbon framesets, but you do still benefit in weight saving and performance over an aluminium frame, as well as saving money compared to a full carbon bike.
With Shimano 105 gears and Mavic racing wheelset this bike says quality and will be an ideal training bike for long rides and fast sportive events where comfort is premium but speed is still desired.
