TCR Trinity Alliance Zero, 2008

Alliance Carbon-Alu Blend in Aero form.
Giant introduced their Alliance frame technology for the 2007 season, and have now had the chance to further refine and perfect te process and application.

From the competitive racer to the weekend club rider, Alliance is engineered to provide significant comfort and efficiency over standard aluminum framesets. It accomplishes this by utilizing two traditionally independent frame materials: composite and aluminum. Through unification of these two complimentary materials, Giant engineers are able to create a single structure that capitalizes on the performance benefits of both.
Only through Giant’s long-standing experience in working with these two materials is this highly technical union now possible.

Time Trial and Triathlon Tested.

The Trinity Alliance Zero brings Giants alliance technology to the race against the clock.
The frame has been wind tunnel tested which has enabled the designers to shape each tube to generate the least amount of drag. The geometry has been tweaked to allow the rider to achieve an aerodynamic position, yet remain comfortable and powerful.
The Alliance Zero comes with top of the range Vision Aero bars and a mix of Top Shimano components, which have been upgraded over the 2007 version.
The wheels have a deep section rim for that extra time trial and triathlon edge.

Verdict.
At AW Cycles our fist impressions of the Trinity Alliance was that it looked like it should be twice the price. The paintwork and the profiling of every tube on the frame looks like Giant have spent a lot of time developing and refining this dual-material triathlon bike.
When riding the bike the same responsive feel that can be felt on the road alliance bikes was still present, with the combination of carbon and aluminium giving a stiff yet vibration absorbing ride. The aero position was comfortable with lots of room to position the bars lower for time trials or raise them for longer triathlons.
All in, the entire package that Giant has produced, especially considering the price of the bike, is quite outstanding!
