Cycling Gloves
Riding gloves or mitts are an essential part of the cycling wardrobe as yourds are one of the three major contact points between rider and bike. The hands take a lot of the vibration from the road and with your grip dependant on the difficulty of terrain or effort being applied, sores and blisters can easily form. Along with this they can also provide a protective layer from branches and other unexpected obstacles on the trail.
Protective Outer Layers
Most importantly if the rider falls, cycling gloves provide an extra layer that takes the brunt of the road burn (or rash) leaving the skin intact. Along with this of course is weather protection as the hands are relatively immobile and exposed. The wind chill in cold weather can quickly set in and a good warm pair of gloves with windproof or waterproof material makes all the difference to the enjoyment of a ride.
