MTB (With Peak) Helmets
A cycling helmet specifically designed for use on a mountain bike is very similar in design to those worn on a road bike. The main difference is that road bike helmets tend to come without a clip-on visor and mountain bike helmets can come in differing shapes with more protection given to the back of the head, especially in free ride helmets. However, although a practical use, the design is now more often than not a cultural one distinguishing the two types of rider.
Important Head Protection
An MTB helmet is also designed to sit further forward on the head to complement the different position adopted whilst riding the more upright bike position off road. When riding on the trail, the rider tends to look just ahead of the front wheel for obstacles as opposed to the road where they will be looking further ahead. We stock MTB helmets at all price points from manufacturers such as Bell, Giro, Limar and 661. For further information and help with fitting and sizing, refer to our clothing buyers guides.
