Northwave have become renowned for making quality no-nonsense, no gimmick shoes that are designed to work well on a bike and last the distance. The Silk women’s MTB shoes follows this and are aimed at those weekend riders who want a quality shoe to enhance their mountain biking but don’t want to pay the earth to get them. With this shoe you get a comfortable upper built around a synthetic sole that is designed to take all SPD type cleats. The sole is not too stiff so gives great comfort but is reinforced around the cleat giving good solid connection under the balls of the feet. The tread on the bottom allows comfortable walking on rough terrain and the styling is obviously designed for women with a light blue and silver colour scheme, which looks good but may not be to everyone’s taste. The fit as with most northwave shoes leans to the wider side so those with flatter feet and a high arch will fit these well.
