Keeping you bike shiny and clean is not just for aesthetic appeal, but also serves to keep everything working as it should, thus increasing its lifespan. These days cleaning requires more than just a bucket of water and a sponge. Many manufacturers such as Muc Off and X-Lite are producing special cleaning formulas to remove mud and grease.
Using Cleaning Formulas
Simply mix the formula or use pre prepared formulas and spray onto the bike. You can scrub with special brushes and then rinse off with water. It is important to stress that although it is tempting to jet wash bikes this is not advised as high pressure water and bicycle bearings in headsets, hubs and bottom brackets don’t mix too well. Getting water into the bearings can seriously affect their performance and they will need to be re-greased as a result or even replaced.
