Flatland BMX is a discipline which can take place almost anywhere and requires complicated tricks to be performed on the BMX whist the bike remains on the ground. The bicycle is often stationary as the rider manoeuvres around it which is why lightweight materials are important. Freestyle is a rather general term for now distinct disciplines of the sport. We make every effort to show in the individual bike pages the suitability of all the cycles we sell.

The technology behind most BMX riding has remained fairly simple due to the nature of the tricks performed. The primary need is for simple well made robust bicycles. However, the one area of the sport that has seen technological advances is that of BMX racing. Quite simply, riders race each other around purpose built tracks with technical corners and jumps and the first to cross the line wins.
