Road Handlebar Stems Road stems are vital parts for setting up your road bike correctly. They come in one or even half cm increments so that the rider can get the right amount of reach depending on the length of their bodies. The entry level stems are produced mainly in aluminium which make for a very strong and stiff set up. Carbon Stems As you go up the range, the use of carbon becomes more common; either rapping the aluminium to create a nice looking stem, or at the top end full carbon is used for incredible lightweight and strength. In order to give our customers the widest choice, we stock stems from all the leading manufacturers such as ITM, Deda, FSA, Cinelli, 3T and Easton to name but a few. MTB Handlebar Stems Stems designed for mountain bike use will be very similar in design to their road counterparts, but tend to be strengthened to cope with the demands of off road riding. With the geometries involved they also tend to come in smaller measurements, in some cases as short as 50mm. This means that positions on the bike can be adapted for different disciplines and styles of riding. However, for XC riding where the position can be similar to that adopted on the road stems they are produced up to 140mm.
