Our Bike Shop In Reading

Located in Caversham, our Reading bike shop comprises of two floors, with plenty room for people to browse around and view demos. The types of bikes you can find as part of our bike shop in Reading, include:

Electric Bikes

Often referred to as ‘eBikes’, electric-hybrid bikes allow you to pedal less but cycle further – making those hilly climbs and/or wet and windy days a struggle left in the past. Electric bikes are great for the daily commute, leisure or exercise – for both experienced and new cyclists. eBikes are ideal for anyone who may suffer from injuries/health complications too; their ease-of-use will provide the means to get out on the bike without any undue worries of over-exertion.

Mountain Bikes

Whether for cross-country, trail riding, downhill or endurance, a mountain bike will be ideal – but which to choose? We stock the two main types of mountain bikes in our bike shop in Reading – Full Suspension and Hardtail. The difference between the two is that Hardtails only have suspension at the front of the bike – Full Suspension, as you can guess, has it at the rear, as well as the front. Each type fits a certain need; whilst you’ll be able to tackle the hardest courses with a Full Suspension, its weight reduces the efficiency of pedalling that a Hardtail can provide best.

Road Bikes

Road bikes feature drop handlebars and can be used for a variety of different tasks from keeping fit, riding on a racing track or cyclo-cross. At AW Cycles’ Berkshire bike shop, you can browse through a range of different road bikes including performance bikes, triathlon bikes, track bikes and comfort bikes for distance.

Children's Bikes

Looking to get your little one into cycling? We stock every type of bike to guide a child through their riding development – including a range of specialist learner bikes to help them develop their coordination. When your child feels ready to move onto a stabilised and standard bicycle, we have a range of wheel sizes ranging for 12” for small children to 24” as they get older.

Leisure Bikes

If you’re searching for a bike to use for a commute or simply for leisure, we recommend a hybrid bike. These bicycles combine different features of mountain and road bikes to provide a multi-purpose bicycle. As such, they can make riding on the road less exhausting, which is useful for commuting. However, many hybrid bicycles are also suitable for riding on dirt roads or towpaths, which also make them a great choice for those searching for a casual riding bike.

Folding Bikes

A great choice for the busy commuter or those whose space is at a premium; a folding bike balances the need for a high-quality ride with the ability to be stored away quickly and easily. Some folding bikes can even fit inside a rucksack, such is their ingenuity! We are pleased to present our vast range of folding bicycles that can suit all requirements imaginable.

Pre-Loved Bikes

Many of our customers choose to upgrade their bicycles and sell their old bike back to us. When this happens, we give the pre-owned bicycle a full service and check over the bike before making it available for purchase at a reduced price. A well-maintained bike will last a lifetime; so if you’re searching for a quality bike at a lower price, feel free to browse through our range of second-hand bikes.
